Business Cards Go Digital

27-Feb-2016

The print world is changing (thank goodness). In the last few years we’ve seen a decline in business card orders and for good reason. Pull out your smart phone, link from your calendar, and forgo the stacks of wasted print material piling up at your desk or office drawer by inserting data manually into your computer.

But now you can have business cards printed with NFC technology (Near Field Communication) which is a short-range wireless connectivity standard that uses magnetic field induction to enable communication between devices when they're touched together, or brought within a few centimeters of each other. Enabling a user to simply put the card next to their smart phone and a series of things can happen (things that the client controls). No app is needed from the user!

This changes our interaction to print data and paves way for new creativity for call-to-actions. For example, you are running an auction and want people to contribute or donate, they take a card or even put their phones to the card, it will take them to a page where they can simply give and a transaction is made. No more filling out forms or emailing a person later. With Apple Pay and other tools already in use the possibilities are endless. Watch this video for a visual description of the ideas are possible.
